Our rangers and trackers share their expert knowledge of the bush in a practical way, so as to unravel all the intricacies of the African wilderness. As most of them grew up in this environment, they are highly capable to manage the rigorous responsibilities of this African safari experience. These special characters, all unique in their own way,will win your heart with their heroic stories, wow you with phenomenal bush tales,and leave you in awe with their brilliant interpretations of nature’s secrets.A total of 10 000 hectares of pristine wilderness is traversed in the comfort of six-seater open safari vehicles.With the teeming biodiversity of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the skilled interpretation of bush signs by astute Shangaan trackers, each safari is a truly unique experience.Together, these trackers and rangers scour the bush for fresh spoor. Experience have taught them how to track elusive animals inconspicuously into ravines,and through thickets,to create up-close-and-personal wildlife encounters.They also know how to position their vehicles in such a way so as to afford budding photographers with that perfect shot.A typical day at Dulini begins at dawn. After enjoying a cup of delicious coffee and some rusks, guests are ready to catch the tail-end of the nocturnal creatures’night exploits during the early morning Dulini safari. The crisp morning air will energize you for the rest of the day’s activities. The duration of an early morning safari is about two to three hours, after which you will return to camp for a lavish breakfast. The more adventurous can opt for a bush walk under the guidance of one of our very capable field guides.Experiencing the bush this up close provide a whole new perspective of your environment. Since it is an African custom to return home bearing gifts from the land you have visited, our safari shop stock a wide range of suitable memorabilia. And, of course, it will be packaged in typical Dulini style to remind you of your African sojourn. Guests also have an opportunity to partner with Dulini through their purchases from our safari shop. Dulini is committed to upliftment and enriching lives. Half of the profit from curio-shop sales goes to the Esi Dulini Community Trust, a non-profit organisation reaching out to the communities surrounding the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

A well-equipped gym caters to your need for physical exertion when the African pot begins to pad the hips,and you have had adequate time relaxing on your deck. Working up a sweat while soaking up the beautiful views, is a rather unique experience.  

WINE CELLAR

Our wine cellar boasts a collection of South Africa’s finest vintages.Whether lazing in the sun at the pool, relaxing in the shade of the leadwood trees,or enjoying an intimate dinner, we have the perfect wine to compliment your meal.Guests are invited to peruse our wine list at the time of reservation, so as to let us know if there are any specific wines, not currently in stock, which they would like us to procure.Every effort will be made to deliver upon this request at the time of your visit.

OPEN AIR BOMA

Traditionally called“the boma”, this typically African dining venue is the perfect setting to feast on delectable cuisine under the African sky. Here delectable dishes that will appeal to all palates, are served around the campfire. It is in the warm glow of this fire where friendships are sealed,and all those African bush yarns are spun –grandiose tales of fearsome beasts and great escapes are always more memorable when shared in this authentic bush setting.  

VIEWING DECK

The beautiful cantilevered viewing deck under the canopy of a majestic Jackal berry, is the perfect vantage point from where to view the many species of wildlife frequenting the riverbed.It is not uncommon to be surprised by the silent movements of an elusive leopard,or to watch a herd of elephant at play.Guests can enjoy scrumptious cuisine on the deck complimented by the finest wines, enhancing this intimate safari experience.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Provisional bookings

May be held, Dulini reserves the right to automatically release the reservation, unless Dulini is otherwise notified by the Agent. We recommend that the Agent be in possession of full pre-payment when making the booking.  

Cancellations

Our cancellation policy is as follows: • Three weeks before arrival: 50% of full amount • Two weeks before arrival: 75% of full amount • One week or less: 100% of full amount  

Payment

A 30 day pre-payment is required unless otherwise agreed by management.  

Single Supplement policy

The single supplement is 50% of the full rate.  

Child policy

Children from 8 years and older are welcome at Dulini. A child is considered 8-16 years old and will be charged 50% of the full adult rate when sharing with one or two adults. Should there be a full camp booking; children of any age will be welcome Arrival/departure and meals: Guests may arrive any time from 12h00, and the rooms are to be vacated by 11h00. A lunch is served around noon, followed by tea/coffee and cake before the evening game drive commences. Dinner is served on return from the evening game drive. Dawn tea/coffee is served before your morning game drive and breakfast is served on arrival back at the lodge.  

Transfers – Road and Air

• Daily scheduled flights on Airlink from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (near White River). Road transfers are offered from KMI Airport (MQP) in air conditioned vehicles – Please request rates. • Daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg to the Sabi Sands (Ulusaba airstrip) on Federal Air.  

Distances by road

• Johannesburg – Dulini: ± 5-6 hrs (±500 km) • KMIA Airport –Dulini : ± 2 hrs (±150km) • Ulusaba airstrip - Dulini  

Newington Gate entry

When self drive guests arrive at Newington Gate they will need cash to pay entrance fees. R190 per vehicle entrance (as from 01st September 2013). R50 per person (as from 01st September 2013). Slips need to be kept, as they will be needed on departure. ** Gate entrance fees are subject to changes implemented by the Sabi Sand Wildtuin.  

Malaria

Please note that Dulini is situated in a Malaria area and we suggest that you contact your local pharmacy or doctor regarding precautions.  

Travel Insurance

Please ensure that you have taken out comprehensive travel insurance that will cover cancellation fees should you have to cancel your trip in any event.
